Good day, looks a great place that you have there. I have recently traced my ancestors, Dugald Carmichael, back to the Kiel Crofts in 1841. Was surfing for some pictures of the area. Am planning a trip back to Scotland next year with my Dad and do hope to stay in the North Connel area for a while. Would like to find where exactly where Duglald lived and stay as close to there as possible. Not quite sure how I would go about that tho. Any suggestions or info is welcomed my email -- sjpaton@shaw.ca Can you tell me if their are many builings in the Kiel Crofts area still standing from that era. Cheers Steve

we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hawthorn cottage. Visited the restaurant many times but first time staying there but we will return.
